While it is true that some toxins in your body must be removed, is it really necessary to do a detox diet?

So what is the reason for doing this type of diet?
Most people seeking detox diets are those who want to lose weight.
They often believe that a short term detox diet will make those pounds disappear dramatically.
However, 9 out of 10 times that weight is recovered once the diet is finished. Any diet that is done in a short term will not have any lasting effect on your weight.
The healthiest way to handle this is with exercise and a healthier diet all the time. Also your body is an amazing machine, and is fully capable of eliminating the most harmful toxins by itself.
What you eat has no effect on this, and conducting a detox diet will not make any difference at all.

So are detox diets recommended? If you want to try it go ahead, but if your main goal is to achieve a better health and fitness. A healthy diet and an exercise program is the best thing you could follow.
